Steve M. Israel

Steve has been a real estate owner and investor for over 40 years, owning and managing a variety of properties from marinas to industrial to residential. Steve’s real estate portfolio currently includes multi-family residential (NYC; Connecticut; Florida), commercial retail (NYC; Florida), commercial office (NY; Florida), and marina properties (Weehawken; Sag Harbor; Ft. Lauderdale; Tampa; Ft Myers).

Steve's approach to real estate investment is to buy and hold for the long-term, consistently reinvesting in his properties to keep them well-occupied and up to market standard. In addition to the existing portfolio assets, Steve is particularly focused on the expansion of his residential and marina assets. Currently, Steve has 400 residential units in various stages of planning and development in New Jersey and Florida, as well as 350+ new marina slips/racks.

In addition to his real estate properties, Steve has a number of private investments in various business ventures across a broad spectrum of industries and asset classes, including investments in the food/beverage, home décor, and energy industries. Notably, Steve is an owner of Clive Daniel Home and a founding partner of the Ford's Garage restaurant franchise.

Steve and his wife Marsee reside in Naples, FL, but also enjoy time at their homes in Savannah, GA and East Hampton, NY.

Jake Israel

Jake is an experienced owner and operator of real estate across a number of asset classes, including residential and commercial properties. Jake wears two hats at SMI Properties Group LLC - head of operations and general counsel. Jake's portfolio includes multi-family residential (NYC; Connecticut; Florida), commercial retail (NYC; Florida), commercial office (NY; Florida), industrial warehouse (NY), and marina properties (Weehawken; Sag Harbor; Ft. Lauderdale; Tampa; Ft Myers).

Prior to SMI Properties Group, Jake was an associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP with a focus on public & private M&A.

Jake is a born & bred New Yorker. He departed briefly for the University of Wisconsin - Madison graduating with a B.A. in History & Political Science (highest honors in the major & Phi Beta Kappa). Jake returned to New York to obtain his J.D. at New York University School of Law.

In his free time, Jake enjoys running, cycling, reading and watching his wife, an accomplished actor, perform on stage.
